Your TikTok bio is one of the first things people see when they look at your profile. So use this opportunity to tell your audience who you are in a couple of sentences.
And if you’re like me you probably overthink small tasks like this. So, I’ve created a quick guide to help you optimize your TikTok bio step by step.
Take advantage of those extra characters and add what niche you’re in.
Adding keywords like “Branding & Marketing” similar to the example above is helpful in telling people what you do. Plus it makes it easier for you to pop up on search results when they search for those terms.
You can easily spend 2+ hours thinking of a cool, unique, username, so instead let me tell you what not to do.
Don’t pick a username that is too long. Or a username that has too many numbers.
Keep your username simple and easy to memorize
What do you do that helps other people, or what is your channel about? When people first land on your profile they should be able to know how you can help them and what type of content they can expect from you.
In the example above Keira helps people by growing their TikTok.
Still stuck? Use this template: “I help __ do ___”
It works every time.
Make your bio stand out using emojis because plain text is just…
boring
See how much that stands out from all this text. It works pretty well, and is even better on call to actions.
What do you want people to do once they are in your profile? Do you want them to follow, click on your link, or follow your Instagram?
For example, in the image above there are 2 CTAs one to watch a new YouTube video and another to buy his toothpaste.
Whatever you want them to do, be specific and clear.
In order to add an external link you either need a business account or 1,000 followers. If you can add one, take full advantage of it. It’s pretty much free traffic.
I recommend adding a Linkin.bio, Linktree, or Beacons link (they all pretty much do the same thing)
It displays multiple links, so you can add a website link, social links, and many more.
Let’s say someone liked your video and clicked on your bio. If you can grab their attention and speak to their problems, they are more likely to follow.
It also improves user experience. If someone really likes your content, they can easily find your links to other platforms, and other links you direct them to. All in one place without having to Google information.
